Just A Quick Hi!

Its been a full but fun day. No time to put together a decent post, (I’m lucky enough to have a handsome man wanting to spend time with ME!) but thought I would say a quick hi!

I am sitting here on a sugar high thanks to Barnes and Nobels’ “Lemon Baby Bundt Cake”…oooohhh baby, it is goooood!  That + Vanilla Frapp= me feeling buzzy and a bit sick…but a good sick:)  While I was there, a super fun thing happened.  I met a reader!  My friend Jami was there with a friend and introduced us, and come to find out she is someone who reads and has commented on this lil’ blog of mine.  How fun!  (Hi Amy, so nice to meet you in person!)  Great name, huh?

Other randomness on my brain:

~I’m worried about my garden.  The wind was CRAZY today.  I think my little carrot tops might have been blow to death.  I covered them as best as I could…we’ll see how they are in the morning.

~I spent some time with my sister tonight.  Love her.  I gave her this rockin’ haircut, (it’s asymmetric, wish you could see the other side, but  I didn’t know how public she would want her face, so I gave you half her face:), and my lil’ one was cuddled up on the other side of her face, whose face I don’t want public..confused yet?) then we went shoe shopping.  I was talking to her about this blog tonight, and she doesn’t read it very often. (whatever…j/k) We laugh because our lives are so different.  Here is my interpretation of our differences…She is young, cool, has a great job and a busy social life…no kids.  I am old, getting a bit dweeby, and I’m into gardening, homemaking, cooking, crafting…and have kids everywhere I look.  I totally see why she doesn’t read it that often, but I have to give her a hard time about it.  In fact, tomorrow (and the next day, and the next, and the next) she will wake up to a blog post from me, sitting in her email inbox, because right after I publish this, I am going on over to my sidebar and entering her email address into the little box that says “subscribe via email.”  Bwaahaa, now she’ll have to read it…I love sisters!!

~I am so spring cleaned out!  I have only done my sunroom, living room, dining room and I am 1/2 way through with the kitchen.  Blech.  Tomorrow, my mother- in- law, Sharon, is taking me out to breakfast, then coming back here to tackle the rest of the kitchen with me:)  How awesome is that??

~I am determined to make May Day baskets this year.  I have a plan, and I hope they turn out as cute as they look in my head!!

~Teacher appreciation day is coming up.  I wanna do a lil’ something.  Hmm…what to do?

~I’ve been thinking about different little fears I have hanging around lately.  Why do I let them?  Love this verse– 2 Timothy 1:7 “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of love, and of power and of a sound mind”  Amen!

~Back to that husband of mine, who is waiting so patiently.  He has been working on a whole behavior/reward/allowance system that we will be trying out on our kids starting May 1st.  It is very exciting.  If it works well (most things do that come from his strategic mind) I will blog about it!

Goodnight, blessings to you all!

Sometimes random posts are the best! See? Doesn’t your brain feel de-cluttered? Have an awesome weekend. Let me know how that reward/allowance plan goes. Sounds like an excellent concept more people should apply.

Amy, I love your sisters half hairdo pic. I’m in a rut and have been growing mine out for a while now. I saw someone briefly the other day who had cute hair and I cannot find a photo of a similar look to take to my stylist. The bottom layer was around the collar bone, while the rest was super layered. Any good sites for finding cute do’s without all of the wacky stuff that people would never wear? Thanks!!

It was so fun to meet you last night! After you said hi to Jami, I whispered, “Is that Amy who writes the blog?”, just like you’d whisper about a celebrity! 🙂
I’m also getting burned out on spring cleaning but my husband will be home next week. So I’m putting him in charge of the kids & I’ll see if I can get finished!

Amy, so nice of you to give your sis a haircut & your blog~whether she likes or not, right? Also, wanted to let you know that I made the dressing (modified it a bit~less oil & about 1/2 of the quantity) from the Very Teriyaki Bowtie Spinach Salad. I just poured it over green leaf lettuce & the family loved it. I have enough leftover that I m going to make a salad for a friend tomorrow & include the mandarin oranges & dried cranberries. Hope all is well with you & I look forward to hearing about the new “behavior management system” you are implementing in the household!!

Being the youngest of three girls, I know your sister will one day appreciate every single one of your blog posts! My older sisters had babies WAY before me and they are my mommy-mentors. I love that you are going to subscribe her. I bet she will secretly start visiting your blog and she’ll be gardening and homemaking in no time!

Kathy looks so cute:) I think it’s funny you’re making her read – I wonder if she reads mine?? She better cuz I’m further away! Most teachers appreciate food? and you are good at that. Did you end up staying in Omaha after your appt? I should just call you lol

    Great post Amy!

Love your sis’s haircut – very jazzy.

Look forward to hearing more about the system your husband has created for behavior/reward/allowance.
